Once upon a time, a playful little mouse saw a sleeping lion under the bushes in the dense rainforest. Abruptly, she jumped on him to play with his mane. This woke the lion up and laid his huge paw angrily on the mouse. He was about to crush the mouse to death.
The poor mouse apologised for disturbing him. She begged the lion to release her and promised to pay him back some in the future. Hearing this, the lion wondered how such a little creature could ever help him. The lion was in a good mood so he accepted the deal and let the mouse go.
Some days later, a hunter set a trap. Unfortunately, the lion got caught in the net. He tried his best to free himself but all in vain. He started roaring helplessly in anger.
By chance, the little mouse was passing by. She heard the lion’s yells and came for his help. The little creature quickly ran towards the lion's trap. She chewed the net’s wires with her sharp teeth to free the lion. Slowly she cut the net into pieces and the lion was free.
The lion confessed that he underestimated the mouse’s offer before but now understood that everybody needs support at some point. He thanked the little mouse for timely help and the mouse reminded him that she had finally repaid the lion. Thereafter, the lion and the mouse became good friends and lived happily in the forest.
This story proves that the kindness you show has a way of coming back to you in unexpected ways.
